Shane A. Bofto Senior Chemical/ Environmental Engineer Deputy Operations Manager

Shane has an expanded background in water and air quality, environmental permitting, wastewater treatment, remediation design, and compliance audits associated primarily with oil and gas and mining either working directly in industry or as a consultant for over 20 years.  He has consulted both in North America as well as internationally.  Shane earned a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Montana State University in 1986 and has a background in biology. Shane’s focus is coal bed natural gas water management, injection, water quality and air permitting, NEPA analysis, water resource vulnerability assessment, dynamic systems modeling, and alternative treatment technologies.  The dynamic systems modeling has supported water management planning by tailoring disposal options to meet varying situations and to look at projected scenarios for decision making.  His water resource vulnerability assessment and systems modeling projects have provided planners with defensible tools for optimal development while protecting ground and surface water resources. Shane serves as the Deputy Operations Manager for the Billings office.
